Maybe the night sky is a
Culmination
Of
Black
Bodies
Glistening
Maybe that’s
Why it’s so beautiful at night
Why the north star tried to guide us to freedom
Or
Why the sun blesses us with a high-lighted glow
Our melanin
Radiant
Maybe we age slowly
Because black holes
Send us zipping through time and space
Allowing us to retain our youth
And the universe is always expanding
We find
new stars
All the time
And maybe that’s when
we draw our
last
breaths
And whether you go willingly, naturally, or by force
We find ourselves looking to the stars
